Shankar Balasubramaniam - Chief Strategist

The brain child of Trade Algorithms, Shankar has over two decades of stock market experience as a broker and trader, starting his career as an authorized assistant in the Madras Stock Exchange (MSE) before becoming a broker in 1992. Not only did he start off with local client business, but also focused on inter exchange business mainly in the area of arbitrage through his excellent network in BSE, DSE, CSE etc. While at it, Shankar always had passion and a penchant for trading and he established himself strongly in this. When NSE started, Shankar moved into this space establishing him strongly through Dimensional securities. One of the pioneers in the Futures & Options trading, Shankar established a niche for himself by coming up with and executing unique strategies. While some looked complex the end results were very encouraging since it minimized capital erosion but built a strong capital growth, though conservatively. While returns were compromised, risks were minimized. An established chartist, Shankar combined charting techniques with his intuition to come up with a great platform for trading. . Over a period of time he along with his team has built a strong trading platform that is now available to one and all. Much of his scientific approach is integral to the Trade Algorithms platform. In the recent past many traders, novice, experts alike, have benefited largely from the training seminars delivered by him. Apart from training, he is also much sought after by various organizations to give guest lectures on various topics covering stock trading. This is much evident in the way leading TV channels such as SUN, KTV use him as an anchor during prime time to answer many questions from investors.

In his own words, Shankar says: "I have seen traders getting carried away in trades looking ahead of time as to how much one will profit from a trade. One should look at the down side and enter a trade only if they can still be in the trade if it goes against them. Capital conservation and growth should be the top priority of a trader, with an ability to gauge and accept risks."

He has led global engagements to process map, model and re-engineer financial, costing, treasury, tax, accounting, order to cash, record to report, record to retire, order to cash, procure to pay processes for large global corporations.

His corporate experience and familiarity with the macro financials of economy helps a lot in defining strategies along with Shankar to make Trade Algorithms a successful platform. He has played a key role in defining the mathematical model behind the platform to ensure a manual and mechanical execution. Not only that, he plays a key role in bringing the team together and ensure that trades are executed the way it should. He has defined processes and procedures so trades are not missed and pilferage is minimized. He also brings about reporting to various clients who are using this platform.

Apart from the corporate world and trading, he has also established rural schools in south India impacting the lives of many economically deserving children. He also advises many educational institutions on pedagogy. Venkat along with his family is based out of New Jersey, USA.
